Spring Fun and the start of the 3rd trimester

We've been enjoying the beautiful spring weather and trying to get outside as much as possible. Last Sunday Dan and Kristi treated us to ice cream cones from Knoke's as a good excuse to enjoy the beautiful day. G had his first ice cream cone that was ALL his! There's something about watching my baby eat his own ice cream cone that made him seem like such a Big Boy!

He ate and ate until it was almost all gone and he couldn't bite the cone anymore

Liam preferred his ice cream from a dish

Kristi and I enjoying some snuggle time with Mateo, he's snuggled in the blanket

We also had our first visit to the Hudson Hospital Emergency Room...

The brakes got the best of Cary's fingers and 2 stitches later he was on his way! (I'm pretty sure all the money we would have saved from Cary changing the brakes at home was spent on our doc bill)

Here's where you'll find us these days...

G loves to ride his "hog"

or hit the links in the back yard

Winter boots, scooter and no pants...now that's creative!

Baseball and Hockey...Gavin loves to play at Spencer's house, he has all kinds of sporting goods

Cute boys by the tulips!

G was ready for opening day, and has been enjoying watching the Twins with Mom and Dad

Just like Mommy, G LOVES pickles!
Gavin also loves to help around the house....

and always manages to do it in style!

Lid on his head, cucumber in his mouth...he's getting the broccoli ready for dinner

He's always willing to lick the brownie spoon too

Our nephew Will was Charlie in Willy Wonka and we went out on a limb and took G with us to watch....he did GREAT! The only words he say through the whole show were, " Will Go?" when Will would leave the stage!

Gavin, Will the star, and Great Grandma Mary

First Show

Mom was jealous that G and Daddy got to snuggle through the whole show, but in all honesty G doesn't fit on my lap very well anymore!

Such a Big Boy...
The third trimester...where do I start? The 3rd trimester has brought many aches and pains in my back, hips and pelvis, I know I should be thankful because it could be so much worse...but I am feeling guilty that I can't be as active with Gavin right now as I would like to be. A walk around the neighborhood leaves me on the couch for most of the evening. I have tried massages and have been seeing the chiropractor and things do seem to be getting a little bit better so hopefully I'm on the mend! I told Cary the other day that I didn't think I could do this for 10 more weeks, with little sympathy he told me that I didn't have a choice! Thanks Dear. At least the end is in site...only 9 more weeks to go until we get to meet our little peanut! We do have some idea when the doctor will schedule the c-section...but aren't sharing that yet. We really haven't started getting things ready for the baby...guess we should get going on that!

Happy Easter

Easter was a gorgeous day here, and we enjoyed celebrating with our family! G must have been a good boy, because that silly bunny hid some eggs outside for him to find!

G would find one and then want to open it instead of looking for the rest of them...
Look it, look it...I found one!

The bunny also left a bucket with books, musical instruments and plastic dishes

G's eggs each had a car inside... this is a horrible picture of G, but it does capture the excitement of find a chocolate delivery truck inside his egg! If only there was a real chocolate delivery truck!

This bucket can also be used as a hat!

Grandma B, Rob and his family joined us for a delicious brunch! Rob took a ton of pictures, but of course I forgot to ask him for any before I posted!
Buds...what a special Grandma G has!

G got scarves like we used in music class in his Easter basket, apparently they also work to turn him into a pirate!

On Saturday we also had a neighborhood egg hunt! We enjoyed a sunny, but very windy day, I helped hide over 400 eggs for the neighbor kids to find.

G on the hunt!

This is Gavin's girlfriend, Caroline, didn't catch her with her eyes open...but isn't she a cutie, and check out those pants! Adorable :)

After the hunt there were prizes, a pinata, snacks and crafts for all the kids. Over 40 kids participated, and it was a ton of fun! Yes...we are loving our neighborhood :)
G and Daddy enjoying a snack

We got a visit from our cutest neighbor boy on Easter...
Easter left me thinking, this is the last holiday before we are a family of 4, next year there will be 2 Easter baskets...and wondering will I be shopping for a cute Easter dress next year?
Either way we are looking forward to a happy, healthy baby in our future, at least that's what we are praying for!

Babymoon

Ok, so I know you really want to see cute pictures of Gavin not pictures of his giant pregnant mom...but we had a great babymoon in Cancun and had to share a few pictures (I promise there are no swimsuit photos :)

My most people's standards we are very boring vacationers....sleeping in, reading, laying by the beach or pool all day and enjoying a nice dinner is our idea of the perfect vacation! No sightseeing, tours, crazy bars or booked agendas for us.

We are VERY lucky that Grandma B was able and willing to come hang with Gavin so we could sneak away one last time alone before Baby #2 arrives (under 3 months to go now!)

Cary ended up with a migraine the 1st day so I spend the evening alone watching tv, playing cards and ordering room service. Luckily he felt better in the morning and we spent the day by the pool and ventured out for a relaxing dinner at Puerto Madero...no chicken nuggets in sight!
Puerto Madero
View from our balcony...it was windy, but sunny every day! Paradise :)

26 week belly picture

14 weeks at the most until Cary is a dad of 2!

While we were both very lonesome for our little man, we found out daily that he was entertaining Grandma B just fine! He thought we were in an airplane the whole time, and was fine with that :) As much as we enjoyed our time alone, it seemed much harder to be gone from G this time. Maybe because he is so much more interactive now! Worse for us than him I'm sure...he wasn't complaining about constant 1 on 1 attention from Grandma B (or Gramby and he calls her)

After dinner at Lorenzillo's! We both had delicious seafood meals and I even enjoyed a virgin daiquiri!

We ate at Lorenzillo's in Cabo last year, and it was just as delicious in Cancun this year!

Baby wanted ice cream after dinner...this was also the closest thing to a picture of our room that I got!

We tried a new place the last night...Habicuela Sunset, it was delicious :)
After 4 relaxing days on the beach and 3 delicious, quiet meals out we were both ready to get home!

As much as I missed G, it was totally worth it to spend time with my hubby! If spring break is in the cards next year maybe we will bring the kids and Grandma B with!

Our Little Stripper

G is a seriously funny little boy...and he knows it! He is getting more and and more independent, and often tells us "I do it"! Here are a few of G's latest antics...

G with his Cancun "souvenir", who would have thought a shower cap would be so exciting?
" Look at me"...we hear that phrase a lot too!

Liam testing out the goggles...

and G sporting the goggles
This is how I found Gavin when I checked on him before bed...he almost had his jammies off!
Do we have a stripper on our hands?
We put his jammies back on and he didn't make a peep, the next morning I asked him if he had taken them off and he looked at me like...what are you talking about, my jammies are on see?
Guess we need to put on a onesie under 2 piece jammies...he can get the pants off, and is starting on the diaper here!
and I'll leave you with his other cute side for this week :)
