Madeline's Baptism

Crazy post-baptism hair (ok, it's really no different then her crazy every day hair)

On Saturday, August 28th we had Madeline baptized at Shepard of the Valley Church where we belong. We ended up having a gorgeous day and were lucky to have most of our family join us! (missing were the 3 aunties and 2 cousins!). Maddie had a total meltdown while we were getting her dressed right before we were ready to leave so she ended up being swaddled in her blanket through most of the service and in most of the pictures!

With her godparents Dan and Kristi McNamara

The Krusemark Family...we were so lucky that Great Grandma Sis was able to join us for Madeline's special day! We know it was a long trip for her, but it was so special that she made it.

Sutherland Family...including the 96 year old guest of honor Great Grandma Mary

Everyone joined us for dinner after church...can you guess who is on a sugar high?

Even though it was Maddie's special day, Gavin got some special attention from Grandma Sis too

Madeline is a lucky girl to have so many special people in her life!

Fishing with Dan

Last Friday Gavin had a very special outing with his Godfather Dan...his first fishing trip! Gavin started waiting by the door for Dan at 8, even though he wasn't coming until 10!
Dan showed up with a Diego pole for Gavin...and man was he excited! I have to admit I was a little sad...makes me realize what a big boy Gavin is when he's going on outings and Mom's not invited anymore :( They went to Lake Malilu in Hudson and even caught 3 fish...(although according to Gavin it was 5, he's telling fisherman tales already!)

He was so excited to come home and tell me all about it! He's lucky to have such a great person like Dan in his life...thanks Dan!

Smiles, Smiles and more Smiles

Maddie is already learning to ride a bike :) Gavin thought it was hilarious...he doesn't quite get what Maddie can and can't do yet!

Maddie continues to be a great baby!!! She is getting really interactive and is full of smiles (those first ones that just melt your heart...can't get enough). She loves to lay on the floor and kick around.

She loves to nap in her swing...and just looks too cute doing so! Speaking of sleep...she is officially sleeping through the night most nights! Yippie... Cary usually gives her a bottle about 10 and she will sleep until 6! I can handle that. One night she even went 9pm - 6am...I loved it!

Daddy's Maddie...I'm not sure if they were doing gang signs or stretches?

so peaceful

Lauryn was a great helper with Maddie, she knew just what to do

Cary and I went on a date to the State Fair..WITHOUT kids, so Grandma B came to snuggle with Maddie! We enjoyed our time away, and I'm pretty sure Maddie did too!

On August 28th Madeline turned 2 months!

So big and long...

Big Girl Smile...

We had Maddie's 2 month appointment a few weeks ago...she was 10 pounds 10 ounces and 24 inches (Gavin was 11 pounds 51/2 ounces and 23 inches) We know she is tall because she is quickly growing out of a lot of her one piece outfits!

The nursery is still a work in progress...but Cary did a great job on the paint!

I love the baskets!

Can't get enough of that smile

The G Man...

This is Liam's toy, but Gavin LOVES it! He will crack up over and over at the monkey popping out! Doesn't he look so big?

Gavin, Gavin, Gavin...where do we even begin? Gavin continues to make us laugh, challenge us, surprise us and of course sometimes frustrate us! We are still working on potty training and most days he does great...he still poops in his pull ups, but otherwise will keep a pull up dry all day if he wants too (depends on how good the potty treats are!) I'll be SO happy when we are finally done with diapers!

Talk to the hand mom! Yep...notice the bruised, swollen face! Gavin tripped on my shoes and crashed into the coffee table...he seriously looked like we beat him :(

Superman

We really notice how much Gavin grew this summer when we pulled out his fall clothes and none of his jeans still fit! One day he told me, I'm not a stink-a-potomus...I'm a MAN! Wow...so not ready for that!

Somehow a puzzle box on your head and a pair of tongs makes you a police man? Gotta love his imagination

Gavin continues to be a good eater...in fact he ate 3 ribs that night!

This is what happens when you color on the floor :(

Gavin and Daddy have spent lots of time hanging out this summer while mom is feeding Maddie :)
Learning that we only ROLL balls inside

Daddy does bedtime...I love how they snuggle in to read books!

Trying on all the winter gear...let's hope he doesn't need to wear it for awhile!

Gavin's cousin Tyler came to play and they boys were having a blast playing in Maddie's close and pulling out her clothes and would say, Look at this one, isn't it cute?

The second most popular question we get (after are you getting any sleep) is "How is Gavin doing with Maddie"...he honestly LOVES her, he wants to see her in the morning, give her kisses and hold her. The other morning he asked me to see her bellybutton...then he asked to see her "winkie". When I told him Maddie doesn't have a winkie he responded, Well you need to buy her one at the store!

Gavin can always make Maddie smile
