Wk 21 Early Visit to the Maternity Ward

Well, most of last week was pretty uneventful. Cary was back at work, whipping the new teachers into shape during new teacher orientation and also making many visits to the chiropractor.....but finally feeling better.

Saturday we took in the "Great Minnesota Get-together" and gorged ourselves on Pork Chop on a stick, Cheese Curds, Deep Fried cream cheese filled pickles and, oh yeah......Sweet Martha's Cookies and washed it all down at the dairy stand with all the milk you can drink for a $1.

Sunday, Jill was planning to be gone this week on Tuesday and Wednesday for work when...........................We had to make a visit to the ER due to Jill having back pain and some other symptoms that made us worry about Baby K. After checking in, we DID get the first class treatment and the ER sent us right up to the OB floor. After a few tests, an ultra sound and a few consults, our 9 PM arrival on Sunday soon turned into an overnight stay until Monday.

BabyK was safe and was never in any danger....However, Jill is still wiped out from what doctors seem to think is a kidney stone or what was left of one.....very painful and creating quite a scare and giving Jill little chance to sleep well.

On a side note, Baby K. once again was not very cooperative during the ultra sound .....moving to avoid the camera....but we did see that Baby K. is often seen with his/her fist on it's head....deep in thought!!

Although, it wasn't the best way to visit the labor and delivery floor @ the hospital, we had great nurses and the facilities where nice. So now Cary is set and has had an OFFICIAL PRACTICE RUN to the delivery room!

We are off to bed...hopefully to get some sleep tonight!

Week 20 - First Photos!! & We Closed!!

So Jill was gone until late in the week for work and then I get the call that there was a upcoming vote by our association board to implement a levy on our townhomes.....Oh, no....out of the blue and potentially a deal breaker!! So this caused a major glitch and Baby was not happy either!

We managed to get the deal done and closed on Monday, the 20th.....Yeah! A big thanks to Dan for a job well done, and kudo's to Kelly for her great title work as well.....we appreciate it.

Friday we had the ultra sound and saw Baby K. for the first time.....WOW, technology is cool and it is much better in person, the photos unfortunately are not quite as clear as what we saw @ the doctor's office.....And since Baby K. was taking after his/her mother (ha ha) Baby K. did not cooperate as needed and so we get to have an additional ultra sound next month to see a couple views that Baby was unwilling to pose for.

This is a link to a site that you can download my file to see the pics of Baby K....I would recommend "right clicking" and open in a "new window".

Click on "ultra sound pictures.doc"

Relax, it's slow, but a free site :)

All in all, it's been a long week, but now that the house deal is done and baby is growing strong as expected, we can focus the next few months on preparing for Baby K's arrival.

It's hard to believe that we are half way to the finish line.

Week 19 - Greetings from Phoenix

Hello everyone, I will apologize in advance that there will be no pictures this week...I'm currently in Arizona and forgot my camera! I had a work meeting out here today, but came out Saturday to spend some time with Ingrid (who has also joined the pregnancy bandwagon). We have had a great weekend visiting the casino (we both won!!!), shopping for maternity clothes, swimming in the pool, playing cards, and doing what pregnant ladies do best EATING! Luckily she has a wonderful husband who has been waiting on us and cooking for us (and he is a wonderful chef). We also have another friend who has announced her pregnancy this week....Angie Olson! Tomorrow I am heading to New Orleans until Thursday and then I will finally head home to see my husband (who thankfully has returned safely from Sturgis)! Friday we have our ultrasound and we are so excited to finally be able to see our little one! This weekend we are planning to help Kristi celebrate her big 30th birthday at their cabin. The best news of the week is that I finally have felt the baby move! What a great feeling, I can't wait until Cary can feel it as well. Have a great week, and I promise updated pictures next week.

Week 18 - We've Moved

Wow, what a whirlwind week!!! Since I posted last week we have found a new place to live, packed up all of our stuff (realized how much stuff we have), moved and cleaned out our old place!!! Gosh, it is no wonder that I'm exhausted and feel like I'm about to head to the funny farm any day now! Thanks to the help of our great family and friends the move went very well and we will get unpacked someday!!! Our plan is to rent the new townhouse for a year, and then see where Cary's job takes him next summer and go from there. (Although the thought of moving again at this point is TERRIBLE!!!) It is just a huge relief to have sold our house in this housing market! (knock on wood) We will now have a room for the baby, and an extra bedroom so we can still have visitors! Once we dig all of our stuff out of the nursery we can start planning to bring our new little person home, I can't belive I'm almost half way there! The good news is Cary will have some relaxation this week as he is heading to Sturgis, and I am heading to Arizona on Saturday and planning to spend time with Ingrid in her pool relaxing! Look for a post from Arizona next week!
