September Adventures

"Doing the books!"
Gavin has gone through another month with September nearing the end. Come tomorrow (9/28/09) Gavin will have turned 21 months old! Wow, we have a big boy on our hands that LOVES to climb.
"Working makes a little guy hungry"

"Liam, you so silly!"

I'm sure you've heard from other conversations and blog posts, but the word monkey doesn't do it justice at all. Last Friday daddy came home and mommy was at the door handing off "his" son. He was constantly crawling on the bar stools attempting to get on top of the island or anything else that was out of reach.

A Kodak moment after church

Daddy and Gavin went together for haircuts. Gavin sat very well on his lap and looked at the I-Touch with pictures as the stylist cut his hair. Then he sat on daddy's lap eating fruit snacks as it was daddy's turn next. He did great. He must have got out all the naughties with mom. He he he!

"Ok, I'm going to get your......."

"Gentle? Of course I was going to be gentle."

Mom and Gavin took a quick trip to Cameron, WI to see Michelle, Carli and Parker. They played and had fun. Gavin experienced his first time on a trampoline. He wasn't too fond of it. Lot's of spills.

"Just showing you I have a second cute side"

Gavin is in his 2nd week of swimming lessons. He goes once a week and is a splash happy, free jumping little fish! Whether getting dunked or dunking himself due to the "no fear" factor, he comes up smiling each time.

"Gavin, the horse whisperer?"

"Swinging at Spencer's house"

"Me and Mom"

Gavin had fun this weekend at Liam's Baptism party. He really didn't care to play with Liam at first since every visit to Dan and Kristi's involves his reuniting with the "circus truck", which he is in love with. He drops everything and starts pushing it all over their house. We may have trouble once Liam is to that phase. A fight may occur.

Play-Doh!

"Ha, ha! That is too funny Spencer!"

"Hangin' with my dad!"

"Mmmm! Lay's was right, you can't have just one."

Family Time

We have been lucky to have the past 3 weekends free and have spent lots of time hanging out as a family! We've visited parks, went to the state fair, and spent time with the neighbors. It is really starting to hit me how big Gavin is getting...it seems that no park is "too big" for him now, walking is no longer a term in our vocabulary...we run everywhere, and he is starting to talk more and more. His newest trick is to point his finger at you and say "Don't"...I'm telling myself he is learning that from daycare, not from us! He is also ALL BOY...he loves trucks, tractors, making animal sounds, and Elmo.

We ventured to Eau Claire on Thursday for a play date with Finley and Heather at Irvine Park.
We started on the slides
We fed the ducksWe swung on the swings

We looked at the animalsand we finished off our visit with chocolate pudding at Pizza Del Rae! We were lucky enough to have lunch with Scott and Kitt.
We caught Grandma B playing hooky one afternoon, and convinced her to stop and meet us for dinner...

Gavin looks so old to me in this picture...I think his face is starting to loose the baby look :(

This lemon looks fun

So Sour!

Earlier this summer we purchased a county park pass...we spent Labor Day Saturday hanging out at Perch Lake Park.
Handsome Boys
Yes...he did crawl up that ladder by himself! (a little birdy told me Cary could crawl to the top of the grain bin by the time he was 2, must be in his genes)

Rough landing!
We were the people who swore we would never bring a stroller to the State Fair...guess what, we did it anyhow! How things change when you actually have a baby! Needless to say we had a good time!
Gavin loved looking at the tractors, petting the animals and sharing treats with mom and dad including cheese curds and deep fried pickles!

G had to show off his "fair ears" to Dan when we stopped over to wish him a happy birthday!

Future Gangster??? I sure hope not!

Liam and his family came for dinner one night...Liam enjoyed carrots, while the rest of us preferred crab legs and ribs!

Gavin helped me get out his fall clothes...and decided to model his winter coat and snowpants. (we are hoping he won't need to wear them again any time soon)

We also paid a visit to Teddy Bear Park..

Hanging with Mom

I am loving having Thursday and Fridays home with Gavin! We have been keeping busy, and Gavin has been a BIG helper...here's what we've been doing...

Dishes

Tasting the Bubbles

Dancing with Buckets on our heads

Running around Nakie

Watching TV and more...

This weekend we spent Saturday afternoon/evening in Amery getting together with "the crew". We started out swimming...
Gavin is getting to be quite a little fish

Cool Dudes
Afterwards most of us enjoyed pizza...
but Liam opted for cereal and green beans instead!

Gavin, Finley and Luciana loved playing together...(somehow I didn't get a picture of Finley?) The princess of the bunch!

Gavin got a big treat this afternoon...his very own pudding pop!
Take 1...this is cold
ymmmm...this is good stuff

Then he cried when it was all gone...he wanted more!

It feels like fall is right around the corner, so we are trying to enjoy all the sunshine we can get right now!

Trip to Arizona

We decided to take advantage of my 1st week working part time and head down to visit the Plumbs in Arizona! Ingrid and Kevin's little girl, Annika, is only 9 weeks younger than Gavin and we had a blast watching them play (and it was an added bonus that they had an extra of everything we needed from a car seat to a pack and play). Here's a brief overview of our vacation...and then lots of pictures!

We left Thursday afternoon...I was a little nervous about how Gavin would do on the plane because he is quite "active" these days. Once again he amazed me and slept across our laps for 1.5 hours and then watched a DVD until we landed! What a trooper. This was Gavin's 3rd round trip flight (what a lucky boy!!!), I have a feeling it might be the last for awhile though because after December he won't be free anymore!

Yum, cookies!
Thursday night Kevin cooked us a great steak dinner and the kids played! Annika and Gavin did great, but it sure is hard to share your toys at your own house!

Bath time is more fun with a friend

Gavin thought Annika's shoes were pretty cute!

Surprisingly even with the 2 hour time change, Annika was up before Gavin so when we all got up we packed up the car and headed to a tot water park. The kids ran around in the water and then headed to the playground equipment...we were all worn out when we left. We spent Friday afternoon swimming, playing and then went out for dinner. Once the babies were in bed, Ingrid and I headed to the casino, (after playing black jack for 4 hours we both came home winners).

G knows you must stay hydrated when it is 100+ degrees out

Dinner Date

G likes ranch dressing

Saturday we spent the morning swimming and getting ready for an afternoon bbq and pool party. It was fun to meet some of Ingrid and Kevin's AZ friends...and also to see some of our WI friends!Cool Dude (in pink sunglasses)

G helping Annika with her sunscreen

Chocolate Chip cookies make diaper changes so much better

G was a trooper once again on the way home, although he only slept for 30 minutes on the way home...he and daddy watched movies while mom slept. We had a great trip, and we were all happily exhausted when we got home!Who knew you could watch Elmo on the Itouch?

Don't unpack...I'm ready to go again!
