The Next Michael Phelps?

Ready to hit the pool

That's right...we started swimming lessons this week and we just might have the next Michael Phelps on our hands! Gavin LOVED swimming lessons!! Of course Cary and I both went in the pool with him, I ran back to the locker room to get the camera and by the time I got back to the pool Gavin was already in and splashing around. We sang songs, kicked on our backs and tummies, practiced getting in and out of the pool!, and played with sinker toys. He loved everything, except being dunked under. I can't say I blame him.

It's official...no more baby food for Gavin. He flat out refuses anything pureed from a spoon and will swat it away and purse his lips, so feeding times are getting creative at our house! We have discovered Gavin likes cooked peas and carrots, shredded cheese, noodles and chicken. If it comes off our plates it tastes twice as good with this week's favorite being Barker's french fries! (Go figure, who wouldn't like them).
What's Mom trying to feed me?

We are starting to find our way around Hudson...Saturday night we tried out Barkers and Sunday we started our church hunt. We are hoping to join a church and get Gavin baptized.

Someone had too much fun on Saturday night!

Sunday Papa T joined us to watch the Packer - Viking game, and then Rob, Peg and the kids joined us for dinner to celebrate Papa T's birthday. It is always fun to hang out with them, and the kids are crazy about Gavin...well Auntie Peg is too!

Gavin and Will...yes Will was my "baby nephew" not too long ago!

I'm such a big boy

Me a flirt?

Gavin is officially crawling now too...on all 4's! He especially likes to go after things he is not supposed to like the fireplace, humidifier or opening drawers. We are starting to bolt things down! He also loves to walk around the coffee table or his Leap Frog Table..I think he will be cruising around before we know it. We are noticing every day that he isn't so much baby anymore as he is a little boy, where has the time gone?
Hmmm...stairs

Two Weeks of Fun with our Little Stinker

It seems time has slipped away from us again, so here is an update from the last 2 weeks.

Gavin loves taking baths in his new bathtub!

Red Bird continues to be one of G's favorite toys!

Teething and Colds Suck!

Look at my pumpkin!

Eating...Gavin has decided that he isn't interested in eating baby food anymore, he wants real people food! The past 2 weeks Gavin has eaten pizza and bread sticks, steak, tortellini and soup. While I am happy to be done buying baby food, Gavin eating real people food = ONE HUGE DISASTER!
Thanks Dad for sharing your pizza with me
Steak is yummy!

Crawling...Gavin is getting better at getting up on all fours, but still hasn't figured out how to actually put all 4 limbs together to get anywhere. He is using the army crawl to get where he needs to go, and that means finding trouble! He had his first tumble down the stairs, good thing it was only 2 stairs down- he was chasing after Daddy while he was vacuuming!

I'm up here, now what?

Daddy thinks I"m a gopher fan, Mommy disagrees!

Visitors...we are loving our new home and we love having people come over! 2 weekends ago we had Dan and Kristi over for dinner after their "Baby Class", and Grandma B came to stay as our first overnight visitor. Last Saturday we had "the crew" over, it is nice to be closer to our friends.

Halloween...Gavin was the cutest little stinker ever! He didn't seem to mind his skunk costume, and of course loved being the center of attention. We started the night visiting Heidi, Ryan and Spencer, and then Dan and Kristi. We spent the rest of Halloween night out on our new porch handing out candy and eating pizza, it was a great chance to meet many of our new neighbors.

I can help myself to the candy!

House update...we are loving our new home and things are slowly coming together. We can now fit 1 car in the garage, and seem to find what we need - even if it means digging in the garage sometimes. It is also great to have Dan and Kristi so close...the guys are helping each other out hauling washer and cribs, while Kristi and I are checking out decorating ideas and walking!

Other fun events...
- Dan and Kristi babysat for Gavin while Mom and Dad went to the Wild Game! They reported Gavin was on his best behavior while Mom and Dad enjoyed front row tickets to the game.
- Mommy and Gavin went to visit Daddy at school! It was fun to meet the teachers and kids, and to show off our little man.

- Mom spent Sunday helping Grandma Mary celebrate her 95th birthday complete with a Limo Ride!

Time flies when we are having fun I guess...

Camera took a Crapper!

(Gavin and Spencer on the new dining room floor)

This week has been a very busy week with our days spent packing, moving, and unpacking. And we thought after moving only 14 months ago we had sorted and tossed a lot of stuff we didn't need. Oh, yeah a little monkey has joined our household and he comes with all kinds of accessories!

(Yes I am one cutie pa-tootie!)

Our move went well and Grandma B was kind enough to buzz over Thursday and take Gavin for a couple nights. Mommy and Daddy worked hard moving, since school was on fall break, Daddy was able to take a couple vacation days and haul loads of stuff.

We both were stiff and could not imagine what we would really feel like if we hadn't used a moving company. Nothing too fancy, but they came with 3 guys, a big truck and tons of pads and boxes. Well worth the money, even if one of the guys was seconds away from seeing Jill's evil twin sister since he kept texting on his phone every couple minutes, instead of working. I would have paid to see that!! Poor guy, he wouldn't have known what hit him. :)

Gavin is loving the wood floors...much easier to army crawl on than carpet. His first couple nights were a bit rough. I'm sure with the new place, new smells, and all the commotion, he was having a hard time adjusting. He has been getting better.

His two new daycare ladies have each had him one day this week. He of course was an angel. He ate and slept great. I'm positive he gets that from his father.

As the title says, "Camera Took a Crapper!". Yes, our camera we bought at our 2nd Christmas together has now decided to not work anymore. Weird thing is, Stacy and Steph's camera, which was the same model pulled the same type of glitch a year or so ago. Oh, well at least they have come down in price significantly. Daddy can go see his new friend at the electronics store where he bought his new plasma TV. Sadly, the Vikings still look horribly....but so did the Badgers! Hehe.

So we only have a couple new pictures to share this week. Enjoy!

What a Little Stinker...

The cutest little skunk ever

It's kind of hard to get around with this big tail

Gavin was our "little stinker" this weekend at his first Halloween Party. On Saturday the moms and babies from my mom's group came to our house for a costume party. It was so fun to see all the cuties in their costumes! It is amazing how much they have changed, we used to get together and lay all the babies on a blanket in a circle and they would stay there and we would chat...times have changed! Now they are all over the place, and we are chasing them.

On Sunday we went to a couple's baby shower for Kelly and Dustin. Baby Sam will be joining the family sometime between now and the middle of November. It was a fun day filled with chili, football, family...and cupcakes (yum).

Fun Gavin updates:

- He is still eating like a champ, he especially loves eating food off our plates with the winner being Auntie Peg's pumpkin bars.

- He is starting to wave!

- Still no official crawling...but he can army crawl like a mad man! Nothing is safe in our house anymore.

- Mom's favorite thing Gavin does...Hugs, Gavin will wrap his arms around your neck and give you a BIG SQUEEZE! I can't get enough of them!

Gavin enjoying a slice of apple from the orchard

G enjoying his 2 favorite things...standing and being naked!

Tomorrow we officially close on our new house, we are so excited about almost everything...but there are 2 sad things that come along with moving:

#1 - Not having Super Target 1.2 miles from our house...I don't even know where the nearest Super Target is, but I'm sure I'll get over that soon!

#2 - Leaving our daycare lady Elaine, she has been great to Gavin! I know his new day care ladies will be great too, but we really love Elaine!

Can't get enough of that smile!

Next week's post will come from our new house...and hopefully mommy will have regained most of her sanity!

Gavin Meets Thomas

(Gavin and his Tonka Train)

This week we have been busy packing as we are one week out from closing on our house. Part of the garage is stacked with boxes and bags. Jill is a packing machine.

(Gavin telling Daddy secrets)

We also got to meet Gavin's new doctor in Hudson. He weighed in at 19 lbs. 1 oz. and 28.5 in. The length is a guess, since getting him to lay on the mat without moving is like asking him to eat his biter biscuit without making a mess.

(We are not sure what G is trying to accomplish here)

Gavin really liked Dr. Plotnik, right up until she stuck him in those chubby thighs with his next round of shots. Yeah, he was not to fond of that and he was not fond of her anymore.

(Sporting the hood again)

We also met with Gavin's new daycare providers. Gavin will have some new little friends who have already found him very amusing. One of the moms watching Gavin has two little girls. They think he is the cat's meow!! Thanks to Heidi for helping us make the connection with her neighborhood friends.

(Standing like a big boy in my bear slippers and Xmas Monkey PJ's)

Gavin is getting stronger and more daring. He has been standing at his Leap Frog table, playing with all the fun gadgets. On Tuesday, he was standing there and decided to make the move to the exersaucer ONE STEP away. Mommy was watching and worrying when she saw this, but before we knew it he took a wobbly step and latched onto the exersaucer for support.
(??????)

Although this was a small step, we are wondering will he ever crawl, or is this the sign that he will bypass all fours and just start walking???? Oh, no!!

(Say hello to gravity!!)

We have to watch out for this little maniac. He is getting so quick, that he will grab anything in close proximity. He is so quick that Monday night he shot in at mom's lips like he was going to kiss her....or so mom thought, until he chomped down on her lip, biting her.

(Gavin- 9 months and Thomas-2 months)

This past weekend we also got to meet Thomas Gary McVay. He is just a peanut. Gavin gave him a quick glance or two, but was much more interested in Thomas' toys instead. It was fun to meet Thomas and I got to see Monica and Brent's house for the first time.
